Mauricio has 20 years of experience working with donors and institutions to invest over $200 million to create lasting positive change around the globe. He has worked as consultant and advisor to many domestic and international organizations, providing strategic guidance on board governance, partnerships, donor collaboratives and fundraising.
Mauricio currently served as Head of Partnerships for a private foundation in NYC and as Corporate Secretary for a global philanthropy advisory and infrastructure organization based in Virginia. He was CEO of Friends of Caritas Cuba from 2018 to 2022. He was also the founding CEO of the Seattle International Foundation (part of The Seattle Foundation), serving from 2008 to 2017.
His professional experience also includes many years of work in the field of government relations, serving as Vice President of the Legal Services Corporation; Director of Government Relations for Independent Sector; and Director of Grassroots Lobbying for the American Bar Association.
Born in Cuba and raised in NYC, Mauricio hold a B.A. from Florida International University and a J.D. from Creighton University.
